Moline, IL- The Holy Family College Lakers entered the Leatherneck Tournament this weekend ranked 141st out of the 173 Varsity Men's Bowling Teams Collegiate Teams in the country. Hopes were high for a great tournament weekend. Holy Family Lakers participated in one of the largest Leatherneck Classic fields this weekend at Highland Park Bowl in Moline, IL. Forty-six top tier collegiate bowling teams attended this event.
The all freshmen Laker team ended up a respectable 41st in this very difficult event. James Scherer led the team with a 1230 pin six-game set with a 205 average. James placed 25th in the field of 457 bowlers. Dawson Marsden placed 120th with a 1038 set and rounding out the team Ryan Fiorentino with 130th place with 1019. The Laker's next challenge is right around the corner at the National Collegiate Match Games in Fairview Heights, IL on Dec. 7th and 8th.
