The Lakers were led by Uriah Aili (FR/Bessemer, MI), who finished 2nd overall with a time of 27:04 on the 8k course, earning Aili the 8k cross country school record. Coach Tiberg, on Aili's performance, "Uriah ran exceptionally well and beyond his years with a very strategic race strategy that played to his strengths. He executed his plan; at the 5k he was in 6th and he continued to move up the in the race. Uriah Aili gets to put his name in our history book here as the school record holder. I am excited to watch Uriah continue to develop and continue to break his own record".

Overall, Coach Tiberg was very happy with the way that his team performed, stating; "The men ran very well for their first 8k in their careers. The transition to 5k to 8k can be a difficult one but they did well. It's been a long time since this school has had a top 5 finish as a team. These young men need to be proud of what they accomplished today."
