Turnovers Sink the Lakers in the Season Opener

Manitowoc, WI (October. 29th. 2019) – Lakers drop the season opener to Trinity Christian University be the score of 74-44. The pressure defense of Trinity Christian University would force the Lakers into 34 turnovers.

How it Happened: 

The Lakers would come out in a deadlock with the Trolls at 8-8 apiece halfway through the first quarter following back-to-back three-pointers from Kaitlyn Roycroft and Hannah Sykora. The Trolls would go on a 12-3 run to close the first quarter. The Trolls would take a 22-11 lead into the second quarter. In the second quarter, the Trolls would continue to grow their lead to 14 points by the end of the first half. Coming out of the halftime break, the Lakers would fly out the gates when Roycroft attacked the basket and made a contested layup in the lane to trim the Trolls lead back to 11 points. That would be the closest the Lakers would get as the Trolls rose there lead in the 3rd and 4th quarter to close to take the game by 30 points with a score of 74-44.
