Lakers go 0-2 in the Hoops for Hope Classic

Winona Lake, IN- The Lakers drop both games in the Hoops for Hope Classic losing to Goshen College by the score of 92-48 and Grace College by the score of 117-38.

 

How it Happened: 

Holy Family College vs. Goshen College

The Lakers would fall behind early. At the end of the 1st quarter, the Lakers were down 31-9. Into the second quarter, the Lakers settled down and locked in defensively only allowing 9 points in the quarter. In the 2nd quarter, the Lakers were led offensively by Kaitlyn Roycroft who had 8 of her team-high 12 points in the 2nd quarter. The Lakers would go into halftime down by 19. In the third quarter, Goshen would explode out of the gates and rack up 32 points in the quarter. Goshen would cruise to a 92-48 victory over Holy Family College.

Holy Family College vs. Grace College  

In the second game against the host school in Grace College of the Hoops for Hope Classic, the Lakers would be caught off-guard early. Grace College would rack up 47 points in the first quarter. From there on out, the Lakers were in catch up mode.  The Lakers were led offensively by Hannah Sykora who had a team-high 17 points. The Lakers would go on to fall by the score of 117-38.
