Manitowoc, WI (11.25 2019) - The Lakers welcomed Aurora University to Manitowoc in an early-season non-conference game. Lakers would fall behind early and fall big to the Spartans of Aurora University by the score of 59-83.
How It Happened:
In the first quarter, the Lakers would come out flat and fall behind 7-0 early to force a timeout. Lakers would get on the board following a three-pointer by Kaitlyn Roycroft. In the first quarter, the Lakers were able to get into the bonus giving the Lakers chances at the free-throw line. Lakers would go to 9-11 from the free-throw line in the first quarter to keep the Lakers in striking distance. At the end of the first quarter, the Lakers would be down 18-25.
In the second quarter, the Spartans would begin to take control and pull away from the Lakers raising their lead to as much as 18 points. Hannah Sykora, would connect on two late free throws to trim the Spartan lead to 16 going into halftime.
Out of the halftime break, The Spartans would raise their lead to as much as 27 points putting the game out of reach for the Lakers. The Spartans would go on to win by the score of 59-83.
