LAKERS STUMBLE IN SEASON OPENER
 

How it Happened: The Lakers women's soccer team played their home opener against Bryant & Stratton College the beginning of the game was competitive with goalkeeper Nikki Aldecoa (SO/Sante Fe Spring, CA) notching 5 saves in the opening 12 minutes. The Lakers held the Bobcats scoreless in the first 12 minutes of the game until the Bobcats ramped up the intensity and scored to stop the drought. Nikki Aldecoa the goalie for the Lakers played a great game tallying in total 22 saves. The Lakers had some life in the 59th minute second half when Tianna Tippets-Howard (FR/Cheyenne, WY) connected on one of her two shots on goal which came in the 59thminute in the second half. Tippets-Howard scored the Lakers first and the only goal with the assist from Morgan Alverson. Despite Aldecoa's saves and Tippet-Howard's aggressiveness the Lakers just couldn't fight back into the game and fell to the Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton.
