LAKERS DROP OPENER TO WALDORF

How it Happened:

Lakers opened the 2019 campaign with their home opener against NAIA Waldorf University. In-game one, Lakers opened the set tied at 7-7. That was the closest the Lakers would be as Waldorf took control of the game through service aces. Lakers struggled to consistently return serves throughout the night and would fall behind early in each set The Lakers were led offensively by senior Tasha Rabe (SR/Kiel, WI) who recorded 5 kills. Defensively the Lakers were led by both Rabe and Emily Kretsch (SR/Manitowoc, WI) who each recorded 12 digs. Despite the loss, Coach Lensmire was happy with the way the girls performed, "it was a great start to the season and we did compete well against a tough opponent," said Coach Lensmire.

Lakers will be hitting the road to Appleton, WI for an exhibition triangle on August 24th before the Lakers resume their regular season back at home on September 6th against Emmaus Bible College.
