How it Happened: The Lakers were led by Sydney Budd, who finished 29th overall with a time of 23:11 on the 5k course, earning a top 30 finish, "Sydney ran well in the hot weather conditions. She ran really well in the heat and conditions. Many runners in the field were affected by the weather but Sydney still ran exceptionally," said Coach Tiberg.

Despite the humid weather conditions, Coach Tiberg was happy with the way that his team performed, stating; "The women ran very well for the circumstance. This race was slower across the board from all schools but it was a great mental test. We need to be prepared for all conditions and this meet may not pop off the timesheet now, however, when November comes around this will be a meet that will have a big impact and propel us at the conference meet."
The Midwest Intercollegiate XC championship was won by Olivet Nazarene University with a team score of 15 followed by Saint Xavier with a score of 67.
Up Next: Lakers will be on the road in West Allis, WI to compete in the Warrior Invitational hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College. Lakers are set to race the 6000m course at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 5th.
